The first of Perry's original Resident Evil stories. It follows up on the first book/game, Umbrella Conspiracy. I got really hooked on this book after I started reading it. It takes place in two different states, the beginning starting in Raccoon City and then heading to Maine. This is the book that actually got me to like Rebecca, because I hadn't actually played the original RE, but she was annoying in it. This story puts in characters that aren't from the book, which is cool, along with keeping the others in it.
It has some cool puzzles, that you may or may not be able to get before you read the answer. And it also has a new type of enemy, a kind of trained zombie assassin that tried to kill the team by shooting them. The real enemy isn't even Umbrella in this, it's a man named Dr. Nicholas Griffith, who you learn about early on in the story. He's a bit crazy as you'll notice while reading the parts that are in his perspective. It's has a good plot that everyone I've talked to liked it. It is the better of the two orginal stories...at least I think so.(Underworld's still good)
To be honest, I really wasn't expecting Caliban Cove to be that great, but since it was, I was very happy with it. The characters and dialogue are excellent too. Overall I'm giving this a 4/5. And as I said in the Umbrella Conspiracy review, I'll only give a perfect score to my fave book. *wink*
