Now, let me start by stating the fact that Resident Evil Code:Veronica is my favorite RE game, in fact it's currently my favorite game ever, yet this is not my favorite book of the series; City of the Dead is, as I pointed out in that review. But there's a good reason for that(and no it's not because it's based on CV and doesn't have the extra CVX stuff). And the reason is that the story is kind of...off.

She got all of the important things down: Claire and Steve finding out about Alfred/Alexia, them escaping from Rockfort Island, getting stuck in Antarctica, Steve turning into a monsters and dying, Wesker meeting up with Chris, and Chris defeating Alexia at the end. It was the smaller things that caught my attention. For example: Steve and Claire were together most of the time instead of splitting up.

Also, apparently nobody had to figure out the picture puzzle, and there are a few other things that I won't bother mentioning. They still kinda get to me though, like Steve calling Alfred a cross-dressing freak instead of Claire...I mean that was a classic line by Claire, aw well. *wink* But anyway, other than those changes, it's still a good book. And it has my favorite characters (that's one of the reason's I love CVX as much as I do).

It has Claire Redfield, Chris Redfield, and Wesker (hate his first name ;) ). And unlike most people, I actually liked Steve Burnside, and when I first saw him die back when CV was new, I was sad...though I've gotten over that, heh. Something better about Steve in the book, is that you don't have to listen to his voice. I liked him but I think anyone will say that he had an annoying voice, I personally think it kinda sounded liek a 12-year-olds.

Great Dialogue again. Overall, I'll give this book a 4/5, because it really is a good book, it just would have been better if Perry had followed the game's story better.
